By recommendation of the province and country, we’ve decided to close our showroom down until we are told it is safe to reopen for the public. It was not an easy decision, but ultimately we felt obligated to close our doors for the safety of our customers and our family and loved ones. Our showroom has been closed to the public since March 19.
You’ve probably heard it a thousand times over, but we are in some unprecedented times. Things are scary for many different people and for many different reasons. The security of both our health and our finances has been brought into question, and for many of us our sense of safety has been pulled out like a rug from under us. It’s not often in this day and age that our well-being and quality of life is backed up against the ropes like this, perhaps being a real testament of just how lucky we are to live in the country that we do and have all that we have.
That good fortune is what we’re choosing to feel. We’re feeling grateful for our business, for our opportunity to work and create careers for our team members. We’re hugging our families a little tighter, and we’re feeling very fortunate for the opportunity to raise them in the great city of Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
We’re also not blind to the reality before us, either. The reality is, a pandemic like the one we are in may have a very grim outcome for many of us, both in our business and personal lives alike. It really is a strange thing that is happening, and there are many, many questions that are still up in the air regarding what the overall impact of COVID-19 will be.
In the end, though, we have decided to take this time to be proactive. We’re taking what has been laid before us, and choosing to see it as an opportunity for growth. We’ve been working daily in order to develop ourselves and our practices in order to better serve you better.
We’ve launched a Call Centre that’s now open from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday to Saturday every week. We’ve got our sleep experts on call, working with our clients over the phone and online to make the selection process of their mattress as easily as it could possibly be without the ability to enter our showroom. We know our products inside-and-out, so we are confident in our ability to serve you through these technologies while we can’t interact face-to-face for the time being.
We’ve also offered extended exchange periods for the time being, as we will be unable to offer mattress exchange for some time until it is told we are safe to do so. Following up a return to normalcy, we are keeping our Comfort Guarantee extended to 100 nights.
In addition to all of this, we’ve also been working to develop ourselves online. Our Comfort Finder Quiz is available on our website and a sleep expert is standing by to respond in order to help you find the right mattress. An e-commerce store is set to be added to our website soon, and we are working behind the scenes on the logistics of storage and transit to offer free shipping to you no matter where you are in our prairie provinces.
We are certainly living in an increasingly online world, and that is not a bad thing. Our brick-and-mortar locations are not going anywhere anytime soon. Face-to-face interactions are always going to be essential for us, consumer and retailer alike, but the practices of the market are definitely changing as we adapt to increasingly modern world. The timeline of the progression of these market practices may very well be facilitated by something such as the COVID-19 pandemic that we are currently experiencing, so we’ve taken it upon ourselves evolve faster NOW and to be innovative and find ways to serve you better out of the comfort of your own home.
